Kashmir Shaivism is known as the pure Trika system. The word Trika means the threefold science. In Trika there are three energies: para(supreme), apara(lowest), and parapara(a combination of both).
"The history goes back to satyuga when Lord Shiva appeared as Svacchandanatha with five heads and eighteen arms, narrating the 64 Bhairava Tantras."
The Kashmir Series of Texts and Studies (KSTS) comprises over 100 volumes, implemented from 1911 onwards by Maharaja Pratap Singh at the request of Swami Ram.
Gathering manuscripts scattered during 500 years of historical shifts, this project became the first printed collection of major Trika texts, ensuring the teachings were preserved for the modern era.
